How To Train A Dog
September 25, 2016 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
How To Train A Dog: 1 session, 90 min, NO DOGS ($25)
Back by popular demand and overwhelming positive feedback from past attendees!
Heather Luedecke from Delighted Dog Training Academy is back with a session that will cover the ‘why’ of training and behavior basics that will be the foundation to all the training you will ever do with your dog. If you know you need training, but aren’t sure where to start this session will jump start any training program you choose. She will cover the ground rules for group training, how to get your dog working and how to pay them, review the structure for building new behaviors, and discuss specific ways you can build training into your daily life so it is fun and easy. She will also explore the hierarchy of dog needs and how to apply it, and address reasons you do not need to use punishment in training. Finally, she will discuss some practical ways to improve manners, and reduce annoying behaviors right now! This session is also a great opportunity to meet Heather, and ask some basic questions.
Note to Members Only: your pups can join you if they’re not a distraction during class (feel free to come before/after for park play – member levels apply).
What’s Happening Tail Wags!
Always dog friendly, our events are for the dog lovers’ heart (feel good), mind (learn lots) and soul (it’s pawty time!). Here, you’ll find what’s happening today, tomorrow and all year round. The following list is helpful information about some of our recurring events that you might see on our calendar. We hope you join an event, or two or all ;)
We love to celebrate breeds (including mixes!) and the humans who love them. Come meet other pups like yours and enjoy 50% OFF our Daily Membership!
Wag ‘n Learn
These are a series of FREE informational sessions featuring local pet pros who share some of their expertise with dog lovers. To help pups stay relaxed while you learn, feel free to get some off-leash play time before and/or after the Wag ‘n Learn (member levels apply).
Rescue Paws & Cause
We love supporting local organizations dedicated to our community of dog lovers, especially non-profits who support a worthy cause for pups (or their humans). These events are about awareness, organizing, fundraising, or simply showing rescues in a comfortable, safe and social setting – jump on the barkwagon and help a good cause! For adoptable events, members can introduce pups to each other and see their interaction before welcoming a new furry one to the family.
As an additional benefit to our members, some of our events are for Members Only (which also must apply any time we serve/provide alcoholic beverages). “Members” include customers who use our Daily, Monthly or Annual memberships; or are verified Members who have met our requirements and completed our registration.
***Please remember that our Member Requirements apply for ALL events, whether it’s your first time at Tail Wags or not – this allows us to keep the safest possible environment for all pups.***
