How To Train A Dog

How To Train A Dog: 1 session, 90 min, NO DOGS ($25)

Back by popular demand and overwhelming positive feedback from past attendees!

Heather Luedecke from Delighted Dog Training Academy is back with a session that will cover the ‘why’ of training and behavior basics that will be the foundation to all the training you will ever do with your dog. If you know you need training, but aren’t sure where to start this session will jump start any training program you choose. She will cover the ground rules for group training, how to get your dog working and how to pay them, review the structure for building new behaviors, and discuss specific ways you can build training into your daily life so it is fun and easy. She will also explore the hierarchy of dog needs and how to apply it, and address reasons you do not need to use punishment in training. Finally, she will discuss some practical ways to improve manners, and reduce annoying behaviors right now! This session is also a great opportunity to meet Heather, and ask some basic questions.

No dogs at this session please.

Join Health & Harmony Animal Hospital for our next Wag ‘n Learn topic: “Baby, it’s cold outside!” – a discussion on cold-weather considerations such as frosty paws, salt and other de-icers, hypothermia signs, appropriate outerwear and footwear, having fun in the snow but playing it safe, etc.

Can’t make it? Save these dates for our next topic: Wednesday, March 8 @ 6pm – “How much is that doggy in the window?” – financial considerations when taking your dog to the vet, what is “very necessary” and what is”necessary,” pet insurance pros & cons, costs of common procedures, etc.
